Christmas Gift Wrap

Gift-wrapping is a most important part of the art of gifting and should be done properly. Before one gets to look at the gift, one looks at the way it is wrapped. If it is attractive and beautiful, it delights the recipient and incites an excitement for your gift. Gift-wrapping is an art itself and gives a lot of scope for your creativity to flow.

Your care and attention in wrapping the gift shows how much you cherished giving it to the receiver and make the simplest of gifts special. Here are some creative Christmas gift-wrapping tips that are cheap and easy to do and will make gift-wrapping an enjoyable activity for all!.
  • Instead of Christmas themed gift-wraps, you can use, plain red, silver or white paper with red or green metallic ribbons. You van make basic and festive bows with one of these ribbons.
  • Buy colored tissue paper in bulk for Christmas gift wrapping as it can be used as gift-wrapping paper or lining gift boxes that store fragile items.
  • Paste pictures from old Christmas cards, use artificial beads, candy wrappers, greens, pine cones, berries or confetti on any plain gift bag and make them look glittering and festive. Real pressed flowers and leaves look quite aesthetic too.
  • You can make your own gift tag in shape of a Christmas tree, a heart or a star or any shape you desire from a thick sheet of paper and stick it using glue.
  • Make a stamped Wrapping Paper at home:
You need- Paper, pencil or pen, Ruler, Christmas stencils, optional, 2mm-thick self-adhesive foam, Transfer paper, Crafts knife, 1/2-inch-thick lightweight foam board, Acrylic craft paint in desired colors, Paintbrushes, Paper plate, Tissue paper in assorted colors, Paper towels, Newspapers

Instructions-

Draw a simple design on a 2-inch-square piece of paper or use stencil of your choice to trace. Lay the self-adhesive foam down with the paperback facing up. Now place the transfer paper on the foam back and the design on top of the transfer paper and start tracing the design onto it. After that, carefully cut out the design using a craft's knife and cut out the surrounding 2-inch square.

Trace the 2-inch square onto the foam board twice and cut out these two squares. Place the self-adhesive surrounding foam design on one of the foam board square. Trace the original design onto the second foam board piece and paste the cutout designs in place. Now, choose the color of paint and the tissue paper desired for the wrapping paper and spread newspapers on the work surface and lay down your tissue paper. Pour a small amount of paint on a paper plate and start painting the stamp with a paintbrush. Now stamp the tissue paper in the corner, pressing it firmly.

To make a sharper image, use a paintbrush rather than dipping the stamp directly into paint. To prevent tears, hold the tissue paper down while gently pulling up the stamp. After stamping is completed, carefully pull the tissue paper up so that the paint does not dry to the newspapers below. Using the same stamp, apply paint again and repeat. This stamp will be placed diagonally from the top corner of the first one. The third one will be done diagonally from the previous lower corner. Repeat these steps until the entire paper has a checkerboard effect. To can even use a different design for the stamp effect.
