When considering buying some gifts and presents to make your personal bar look a bit more like an Irish Pub you need to be realistic in how much space and redecorating you can actually take on with this project. If you intend to remodel your entire basement then a full wooden bar with some heavy stock tables and low lighting will be the first place to start. If you only have a small place and a small budget then you will need to consider a few small Irish Pub decorations for the walls or stool area and that will have to carry the day.
Irish Pub Gifts and Decorations for the Walls
Probably the easiest things to redecorate and make your place look like an Irish pub are the walls. Consider some beer and whiskey related mirrors for your walls. Mirrors with famous drinks like Guinness and Jameson set a nice tone. Having some shelves where you can place some collectible bottles of vintage Irish drinks and bottles will also make a nice statement. Your wall is not the place to hang a life sized leprechaun in order to try and make your place look morelikle an Irish Pub. Instead of the leprechaun get an old looking Irish map to mount and hang on the wall.
Irish Pull Handles for your Beer Taps
If you have a keg fridge in your bar and you are running taps then an easy way to make your bar look like an Irish Pub is by getting some good pull handles for your beer taps. For a gift on St Patricks Day you can ask for two or three pull handles. Guinness, Smithwicks, George Killians Red are all great Irish brand names and will add a level of authenticity to your Irish Pub decorating scheme.
Whiskey Shot Glasses and Irish Beer Mugs
Probably the easist way to get a gift that will help make your bar look like an Irish pub is to ask for the present of some Irish Beer Mugs or shot glasses with famous Irish brands imprinted on them. While you may not have the full length wooden bar you can at least serve up your drinks in a vessel that conjours up the image of an Irish pub on a Friday Afternoon.
