Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving is observed on the every fourth Thursday of November. The holiday is celebrated in remembrance of the pilgrims and in order to give thanks.

Thanksgiving Day is celebrated as the national holiday in the United States to commemorate the harvest reaped by the Plymouth Colony in 1621 after a winter of great starvation. This day was proclaimed as the Thanksgiving Day by the then Governor William Bradford and the feast was shared by all the colonists and the neighboring Native Americans. Since then the tradition of Thanksgiving Day has continued.
